I am a believer that we all bring something unique to the world, that each of us has a story to tell, and I love using my camera to help you share those stories. I also believe that the moments that pass as ordinary are actually the ones we want to remember most. They’re the ones I chase with my camera in my own home and it feels like sacred ground every time I am welcomed into your lives to document these moments, too.
Whether I’m photographing you at home with your kids, gathered with your extended family, or working in your studio, you can expect a laid-back session focused on candid moments and genuine emotion with some casual portraits mixed in as well. No need to coordinate outfits (unless you really want to), or stress about everyone looking at the camera at just the right time. You get to enjoy time in your own space with your people or your work and I get to remind you how beautiful that is.

I have also been known to photograph brand new family additions meeting their big siblings in the hospital, adoptions, play dates, proposals, birthday parties, and funerals. I have also been offering one round of mini sessions every year in the fall - my same casual approach to family photos but a much shorter session and more focused on posed photos than my in-home sessions (just in time for holiday cards). Instagram will be the best place to catch that announcement in early fall and grab a slot if you want.

In-Home Family Sessions
The signature KLP sessions that stole my heart soon after becoming a mom myself and I think you will love, too. We’ll spend an hour or two at your house while your family plays games, reads books, eats snacks, whatever activities best represent this season in your life. Pets are always welcome to join in, too! These sessions are very laid-back (and one of the most common reasons people tell me they love this approach), there’s no need to coordinate outfits or make the kids smile for every picture. We’ll find a spot for a casual family photo too, and in a few weeks you will receive an online gallery of beautiful moments of your everyday life on the backdrop of the space you spend the most time together.

Legacy Sessions
These sessions have quickly become a favorite, bringing together cousins and siblings, aunts and uncles, grandparents and great-grandkids, all in one place and always resulting in lots of moments to remember. You pick a place that’s meaningful to your family - Grandma’s house, your family cabin, your sister’s backyard (or even your family’s beach house - bonus points if you give me an excuse for a beach weekend!) - and plan a time for everyone to be there. We’ll start the session with some casual family portraits and then you get to enjoy time together while I document candid moments. Enjoy a meal together, sit and have coffee while the kids play games, reminisce with old photo albums. You choose the activities that feel most “like you” and I provide images to help remember your time together.

Business Storytelling Sessions
I know firsthand the heart and soul that goes into running a business. I also believe the everyday life of a business owner is full of beautiful moments just like home life is. I come to your studio, office, store, or the room you have claimed as your own workspace in your home, and document your life as a small business owner. True to any KLP session, there’s no need to stage moments that would never happen, or try to make them look different than they really do. I’ll get you some natural photos of yourself doing your work, a few KLP-style headshots, and scenes from your workspace so you end up with images for your website and social media, and photos for you to remember and celebrate the beauty of the hard work you love.
